RACE were commissioned to re-brand a privately owned micro-brewery - established in 1865 by William Moorhouse - and develop a range of labels for specially brewed beers.
Moorhouse's compete in a highly competitive market, where securing on-shelf presence is key. A consistent and considered identity is therefore essential for a brand better known for speciality cask ales than mass produced beers. The first step was to research other similar products in the market and a strong new identity was developed for Moorhouse's, crafting the logo and applying it to the labels and pump clips in such a way that it became a template for the range of beers.
The General Manager of the brewery stated, "I asked RACE to develop a brand for both the business and the products. Detailed research and discussion took place to position both strands of the branding before work began. We had to fulfil a sophisticated and modern market requirement, with very traditional design. The quality of design and integration of the Moorhouse's brand were significant in selling in to the USA market."
