In March each year the City of Manchester participates in le Marche Internationale de Professionnels d’Immobilier – The International Market for Property Professionals held in Cannes. Most cities from around the world are represented by an exhibition stand which is funded as a joint venture by the city, property developers, major constructors and associated businesses such as architects.

Each year RACE is commissioned to create an exhibition stand which will differentiate the offering from each of the global cities participating.
For 2006 the concept was developed to create an art-gallery, rather than an exhibition stand and to show the work of Liam Spencer, a fine artist fast becoming renowned internationally for his paintings of Manchester.
The concept was a great success, leading to one delegate from the London stand to state, "Manchester have done it again. Achieved a look that's so different and so cool."
